The first season of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix on July 15, 2016, and was inspired by classic genre films of the 1980s — in particular the films of Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter, as well as the novels of Stephen King.

Legendary cult anime Chargeman Ken (1974) launches a crowdfunding campaign to digitize old films for 6,000,000 Yen (=56,000USD). I think that's too much, but goes well (40% achievement).

Day 13: A film that put you in deep thoughts. I think a little too deeply about a lot of films, but I want to mention this one as I think it dealt with something unusual but important - Balance. Not everything is black and white, and no one is only one thing.

It seems to be an open secret that the eponymous vampiress from the Italian comic book 'Sukia' was modelled on the actress Ornella Muti (of 'Flash Gordon'). I wonder if her companion in this cover art was modelled on the actor Kenneth Williams (of the 'Carry On' films)?

I just completed a double viewing of A Silent Voice and Promare. If you're a fan of Animation (Especially from Japan) Do yourself a big favour and watch these films!

It's kind of funny watching them back to back though. It's like watching together Totoro and Grave of... oh wait.

Death Stranding's landscapes are, like a lot of sci-fi before it, coded as primordial & alien. It follows in the footsteps of films like 2001, Prometheus, Oblivion, Interstellar and even Rogue One. My essay on this topic in the new issue of Heterotopias: https://t.co/h0IX6NM4kx
