Crash or Rayman:

Both are platform icons of the 90's but I think only one can get in. Crash is being pushed HARD by Activision, and he'd complete the "Rival Trio" with Sonic and Mario. Rayman however has some weird stuff going on that might point to his inclusion

You realize that they were paired with Activision, right? A lot of Activision’s recourses were poured into this game. Analogy: Professor assigns you to a group project but you’re the only one working on it + still expected to be perfect. Suddenly solo means harder workload.
