"The Gauls cut off their enemies heads and fasten them on their horses necks on their return from battle, and nail them as a spectacle on their houses. The head of a distinguished enemy they embalm with cedar, exhibit to strangers, and would not sell for their weight in gold."

We know that TEAM SKULL was not originally a thug group.💭
The iron wheel is also known to have been developed by the Gauls.
Gauls and Celts are roughly the same, and Celts are Welsh.

*I am not compatible with his riddles, so this theory does not hold true.

ASTERIX

"The year is 50 B.C. Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely... One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders.

These Romans are crazy!

Julius Caesar triumphantly returns to Rome after defeating the Gauls.

What a celebration! Trumpets, banners, standards, even painted scenes of other battles and victories carried by proud soldiers. Colourful robes and uniforms, music, jubilation.

All Mantegna’s vision.

“An early mention of soap comes in Roman scholar Pliny the Elder’s book “Naturalis Historia” from A.D. 77. He described soap as a pomade made of tallow and ashes that the Gauls, particularly the men, applied to their hair to give it “a reddish tint.””

Ok, its not but it is McBride doing what he does best: warriors and warlords! Roll call as follows - Gauls attack Romans, Irish Gaels attack Viking raiders, King Theodoric the Visigoth dies at Chalons, wild and crazy Landsknechts glory in the Sack of Rome!

Ancient Gauls had it too, and a lot closer to the hockey mullet look.

Today in 52 BCE Vercingetorix, King of the Gauls, surrenders to the Romans under Julius Caesar, ending the siege & battle of Alesia. Though it would take 2 more years to secure the new province this was effectively the end of the Gallic Wars. Soon Caesar would cross the Rubicon.

Happy to hear. XD
Full confesh, mainly due to his facial features, the nose especially, I felt a need to give him the looks of Astérix & Obélix the gauls, resulting it to be one of me top favourite pics be drawn lol.

Well, Obelix is from a comic about gauls but... I do remember that tidbit, Oda watched the Germanojapanese production Vicky the Viking as a kid, and the inspiration really shows on the Giant characters, it's easy to see.

I'm on a DOTA 2 kick at the moment, and had this idea for a mashup. The Lone Druid and Spirit Bear are very similar in stature to the gallant Gauls, Asterix and Obelix. And, well... enjoy. :)

A year has passed since we were reached by the news that comic master Albert Uderzo had passed away. So I had to make another tribute drawing.

Pottery workshops during late Antiquity in the Gauls (4th - 6th centuries AD).
This is a Ph D thesis in French, not too practical about building your own kiln, but well documented nevertheless.
