Jumping on the bandwagon to celebrate lesser-known objects in our collection...Ancient Egyptian footwear from Hawara! This red leather slipper dates back to the Byzantine era, while the Roman woollen toe socks could have been worn with sandals in cooler months.

One of my favourites are these tiny brushes that are only around 4cm long and can easily fit in the palm of your hand.
We don't know much about these brushes but with their intricate flower designs they are very cute.
