First up is POMPEIIANO – the volcanic goat Pokémon. A dual fire / rock type, this cutie embodies our real world Pompeii, even wearing mosaic tiles and tapestries from the city destroyed by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. (Its final form is called Vesuculo).

The Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna presents The Painters of Pompeii, an exhibition of over 100 frescoes, with almost half having never left Naples since they were excavated in the 18th century.

It is probably more likely that a city like Palmyra had two story buildings more similar to ancient Pompeii, but with flat roofs more like ancient Egypt. Obviously there was little space for gardens or pools though.
After the volcanic eruption, poisionus gas of Vesuvius, kill people of Pompeii, in short time. Later, ashes of volcano are poured into city. During archaeological excavations in, 1900s, archaeologist mold it by pouring liquid plaster.

☀️ For #FrescoFriday: the Street Musicians fresco & the mosaic with the same scene were created after a common prototype dated to 3rd c. BC. The fresco is from the Villa Stabia near Pompeii, and the mosaic is from the Pompeii Villa of Cicero. Both are in the Naples museum today.
