Dec 1780 Daniel Morgan wrote Thomas Sumter's followers from camp on the Pacolet River in SC regarding the lack of food supplies. Sumter refused to subjugate to Morgan in any way although Nathanael Greene issued orders that he was to do so. I'm certain Morgan wanted to slap Sumter

19 Feb 1781 Gen Thomas Sumter’s attack against British Maj Andrew Maxwell’s garrison of 300 at Ft Granby on the Congaree R. in SC is repulsed. Sumter’s siege operations are curtailed when he learns of a relief force under Lt Col Francis Rawdon.

14 Aug 1780 Rugeley’s Mills, SC. Geb Horatio Gates’s forces arrive & are joined by 800 VA militia under Gen Edward Stevens. Gates sends 400 men to assist Gen Thomas Sumter on a raid on a British supply train & continues his march on Camden.

May 1781. The “War of the Posts” - After Lord Rawdon abandoned Camden, Nathanael Greene turned his attention to a string of British forts in South Carolina. He sent Lee, Marion, & Sumter on raids and the forts began falling: Fort Motte, Fort Granby, Orangeburg, & Nelson’s Ferry.
