This was my entry to the 2021 @AACAnatomy T-Shirt Design Contest... and it won!!! 🤩🏆🤓
Each letter represents a different discipline of #anatomy: gross anatomy / macroanatomy, #neuroanatomy, #embryology, & #histology ❤️
I'm excited to announce that I was awarded a 5-year @NSF #CAREER grant for #EvoDevo work on brain-skull interactions. The funding will allow me to explore new territories for my research program: #InVivoEmbryology, fluorescence microscopy, VR game design & even a musical recital!

What a fascinating article by @jbwallingford @Dev_journal 😮highlighting the rich history of developmental embryology in Asia and Latin America.

Exocoelomic cavity literally translates as "outer cavity-like cavity" & I DON'T LIKE IT! #embryology #etymology
I suppose it's par for the course with other tautologies like ATM machine, PIN number, and LCD display 🙄

Teaching development is tough when students don’t have a lab class to try the experiments themselves. So today I had them do the next best thing: experimental play-doh embryology. By far the loudest chorus of “oh, THAT’S why!” I’ve ever heard when teaching an experiment! 🐸🔬👩🏽🔬💡
