With the arrival of spring, #phytoplankton blooms have started in the northern #Atlantic #ocean

#NASA wants to see your Landsat satellite-inspired artwork. A #landsatcraft image (left) of a late-summer phytoplankton bloom swirling in the Baltic Sea. My #digitalart work (right) is titled, Bowser.

Meanwhile our second body type, a bilateral and motile creature, splits off a few ways.
In the upper levels of the sea, there are still a good amount of phytoplankton that don't move, alongside larvae for the filter feeders.
So our first body plan is a filter feeder, but with the amount of phytoplankton that are learning to swim, our feeder has a bit of an issue... that being less food is coming down from the surface and through its feeding membrane.
So it needs to remedy the situation.
#IchbinHanna
Whales help to fertilize phytoplankton upon which all sea life is dependent.
Japan and Norway have continued to kill whales every year since the 1986 whaling ban.

Just felt like posting some WIPs while I wait on my sleep meds tonight. 10.5 into Kaz's piece now (really shaping up!) and then 2.5 (of 8-10) on a portrait for Angelbird that's gonna feature some glowy phytoplankton waters and shrooms/glowworms/etc.
NASA captured this stunning image of a phytoplankton bloom in the Gulf of Finland. (h/t @NASAEarth.)
Just like cream swirling in your morning cup of coffee ☕️, a green phytoplankton bloom traces the edges of a vortex in the Baltic Sea 🌊 in this @NASA_Landsat 🛰 image.

One is a photo by @NASA of phytoplankton taken from space. The other three are pieces from #fluidacrylic #workshops ! Guess which is which! 😉😉😉😉
Have you tried this out yet? Upcoming class this Thursday at @wallacksart!
