One of the homes featured in the Myanmar NFT project represents Cox’s Bazar refugee camps, located in Bangladesh 🧵

These are the largest refugee camps in the world with over 920,000 people (half of them children). Most are the Rohingya, a Muslim minority group from Myanmar.

It's obviously Meta, last years, socially gets mixed up in 'sharing hateful words' on genocide against Rohingya in Burma. Just also, Telegram allows to harass the rights of civil + women by junta's lobbied channels. It's such a passive crime of what at all.

Junta've brutally staged thousands of war-crimes up to GENOCIDE on Rohingya & ethnic groups for many years.
After the coup, Junta have just conducted shoots DEAD, tortures to death, ignition to houses & on Innocent Civilians.

Is the world very sure at meeting?

2. Lands that would become India & Burma were closely linked through prehistoric migration & ancient settlements. Sea trade routes across Bay of Bengal spread religions, culture & array of goods. Arakan (ancestral homeland of present day Rakhines, Rohingyas) became a sea power.

1. This poster tweeted by the Malaysian Immigration Department is bad. It has been removed from Twitter but you need to hear this.
The poster states "ethnic Rohingya migrants are NOT WELCOME".

This poster is a factually wrong threat. Rohingya people are refugees, not migrants

The propaganda poster reads, “Rohingya Ethnic Migrants-you are not welcomed”. It was issued by the Malaysian government. I am terrified of where this may lead us.

Anonymous has been supporting Myanmar since 2014 through and [https://t.co/6dFjja84bP].

We are closely monitoring for human rights violations and the implementation of the so-called cybersecurity law.

Cruelty and lack of true compassion are both the same thing -- creation repays both with calamity.

This was written in 2015. Malaysia's treatment of the Rohingya people only worsened, in 2020.

One way or another, we will pay for our evil.

Just heard about the first cases of COVID-19 in the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh. Largest refugee camp in the world. Having visited there to make drawings to raise awareness of their situation in 2018 I am doubtful that they will be able to stop thousands from dying. 🙁

WHALEBONE & CRABSHELL was written in 2015, when news of the Rohingya refugee crisis first broke.

It is a story about societies that expel / turn away fellow human beings -and the comeuppance such inhumanity begets.

More art from the archive today - posters made for Tenaganita, for a campaign to create awareness and action about intimate partner abuse (IPA) among Rohingya communities in Malaysia. This involved consultation with the NGO team and communities. Sketches below 👇

Let us pray for them this Friday as they are our brothers and sisters in Islam. Pray for Sudan, Palestine, Syria, Rohingya, Ughyur and for all Muslims around the globe. Spread love and support.
