Day 21 Living Advent Calendar at 22 Constance St home to Jabez Fieldhouse in 1877, ordered at Court to pay 4s a week to Esther Illingworth for his illegitimate child. 7yrs later they married at Bradford Cathedral & had 11 children Buried together in Nab Wood.

A Scandinavian Happy Christmas on Day 20 of the Living Advent Calendar at 8 Mary St. In 1884 Mary Rushworth 14, a spinner, enjoyed a walk with friends but then fell on her face nr the gate to the park. Pronounced dead by Dr Rutherford, she was carried home to No8.

At 24 Fanny St on Day 18 of the Living Advent Calendar a perfect festive scene at Christmas in 1901 for James Griffiths, wife Lavinia & two children. 5yrs later James an Overlooker pleaded to stealing a chicken from a Nab Wood field. Caught

Disaster averted at 6 Jane St on day 16 of the Living Advent Calendar. Santa & his reindeer were re-directed from no20 and were delighted to pose in the window. In 1871 the Harrisons didn’t tell their 5 children they nearly missed out on presents

Living Advent Calendar Day 10 at 38 George St. In 1871 the parents & 5 Fox children went to the opening of the park & 10yrs later the 6th child, 8yr old Sarah, was the only one not working in the mill. As for Santa, even he needs a brolly.

Day 6 of the Living Advent Calendar. The wonderful window at 8 Amelia St may have been influenced by Jnr’s trips to Egypt & the Holy Land. 150yrs ago his magic lantern slideshow of his travels entertained the village in Victoria Hall.
