Today for we celebrate the birthday of Alfred Frank Hardiman (1891-1949), born on this day in 1891.

Alfred was born in London, the son of a talented silversmith in Holborn. When he left school he trained as a draughtsman and attended the Central School for Arts and Crafts.

Oooh a frustrating in places. Virtually every item had difficult to read hallmarks or needed research. One item (a silver brooch) took a lot of research re Silversmith - then I realised the pin was missing!

That'll teach me to check 1st!
