I need paleo Twitter's help, but I don't know who to ask and I don't want to be intrusive tagging someone.
My question is about how plausible a terrestrial sharks with extensible "gills" for thermoregulation would be.🤔
PS: It's from a fantasy world, but I like Biology/Spec Evo.
Lil art piece I did for a poster all on the function of ceratopsian frills. May just be directly inspired by the paper @BrianEngh_Art made artwork for based on archosaur thermoregulation #ThermalPaleoart
Cool Ayanami Fact
My body temperature is several degrees below human baseline. I always need a blanket. I have poor thermoregulation.
Thank you for listening to my cool Ayanami fact.
@j_stocky Yes!!! Im working on a project for dragons :D
The ones below are flightless, instead using their wings in thermoregulation and a new kind of hunting strategy

I think barghest pups should have full body cotton-like fur that eventually gets replaced with their much coarser and sparser dark fur.
Thermoregulation is hard when you’re tiny, and finding the neck on something shaped like a lint-ball is even harder.

Bagaceratops. Males adorn vibrant displays of color during the breeding season, but usually match the color of sand dunes. This serves a thermoregulation purpose for larger adults, who are more vulnerable to the scorching heat than darker young.
Acrocanthosaurus sported tall spines that formed a ridge right through its back! The function is currently unknown, but some either believe its for display or thermoregulation!
