This is a special treasure in our collection. The cover is called a 'limp binding' due to the flexible nature of the material, known as 'hair vellum.' It contains the accounts of the Wardrobe of Edward II from 1315-16. E101/376.

You know- this WIP painting of Aziraphale would, perhaps, maybe, probably- take a lot less time if I didn't paint stacks of books and paper and vellum. Case and point.

But then again- those details do look awfully tasty
