There's something to be said here in that the beginning of this story is indeed doing in everyone's head. From the characters to the readers.
That does kind of have to be a blow to the ego when you tell someone you like them and then they steal the group's important MacGuffin, run away, and disappear on you.
Though whatever it is and whoever this "Coyote" is, this doesn't necessarily feel like it's anything in the world's best interests.
Along with some Morrisonian "big ideas" thrown at us. Including writing on the walls and an expanded alphabet.

The bleed through of time across this issue is neat. Here we've got young Freddie seeing himself as old Tom O'Bedlam with Jack. Plus a reference to the guard that King Mob shot as a kid. Time seems broken.
I like the pulp inspired look for the '20s Invisibles.
Also the art here is phenomenal.
Edith seemed wholly unprepared for what happened to her with the magic mirror and exposure to Barbelith, how the entire experience transformed her.
