I've decided that no matter how doofy he looks at times, Brainiac is still the best villain ever 🤪 (this is a really good story BTW

Superman '78 is GREAT!!!! It's true to the tone an aesthetics of the Dinner films, filters out some of the elements that (IMO of course) may come across as outdated, and is a huge treat for a Super Powers Brainiac geek like me!

I LOVE these playing card style covers for the Emperor Joker crossover

That time Ed McGuiness accidentally created Red Hulk while working on Superman 😉

I mean, at some point this kid playing high rise roof baseball with cat is justa Darwin Award waiting to happen

I don't know if Superboy Prime is a character that deserved a redemption arc, but to paraphrase Superman, no one deserves redemption, that's what makes it a redemption. Either way, this was a good story

This is where Byrne's writing bugs me the most. As much as Clark is all about justice, he's also about redemption. Calling a criminal scum and a low life is too much like Miller's DKR presidential lackey Superman

I really really dislike Byrne's Post-Crisis reboot of Brainiac being an ambiguously delusional alcoholic mutant, but I at least appreciated that it gave later writers a groundwork with which to do more interesting things

This is the coolest Henshaw looked (IMO of course) during the time when he'd ditched the Superman motif and started using the red and black cybernetics

(Also from MoS - art by Mahnke, Nguyen, and Whitmore)
