La Nuit Des Traqués: flawed but enjoyably youth drama that feels a little like The Party's Over but without the cool edge or verve. Very nice jazzy soundtrack though (and title song by Charles Aznavour) and some moody visuals as well as an early role for Sami Frey.
Becker's Un Nommé La Rocca started off so well as a dark, Marseille noir with Belmondo leading perfectly as a deathly cold killer. Sadly the film veers off halfway through into a prison drama and totally loses its rhythm and pace. Still, its first half is ridiculously good.
Ralph Bates looking at the monster in this still of The Horror Of Frankenstein kind of summarises my reaction to the film. Admittedly laughed a great deal though it's as weak as Hammer gets I think, lacking the charm of their other 70s films and in spite of some superb casting.
