This doesn't exist in Aeres and I'm baffled at why I would ever include the idea. Even the wisest wizard of Aeres would balk at it. Many heroes have laid down their lives to protect the realm from the forces of evil. Evil corrupts, torments, traumatizes. It must be rooted out!
Many fantasy stories are inexplicably concerned with a "balance" between good and evil that must be maintained. I'm assuming this comes from some kind of eastern philosophy, and not the sort of fantasy informed by Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, or even Robert E. Howard. 1/2 #fantasy
The 70s and 80s had the best sci-fi anime that was also weirdly fantasy for some reason and was clearly influenced by Moebius #retroanime
@PlanetXGamesCo Great piece! I want to throw this ratfolk tavern by @sneakygnida into the ring. Love the little details
@Grimasaur Actually I'd argue that D&D has strayed away from being Eurocentric since at least 2E. Since 3E, everything's had a different, more multicultural flavor. 3E had more of a weird steampunk vibe with goggles and straps, hardly region specific. 5E fighter versus 2E.
The Witch Lord. If Voldemort was actually scary and managed to dominate the entire world and not just a boarding school. One of the villains of Aeres, a servant of the oldest evil. If you follow Tolkien, he's Sauron in the Morgoth -> Sauron -> Saruman procession. #dnd
