Still in Scotland, we are for Day 18 of our tour of Alfred Munnings paintings in UK museums. “The Poppy Field” c1905, is a large example, typical of Munnings early plein air work around his home village of Mendham.

Scotland is next on our digital tour of paintings by Alfred Munnings in UK museums. , owns this print of the original ‘Grey Lady Ridden by Sir Eric Bonham’ 1919. Grey Lady survived to return home in 1918.

Day 13 and another from on our tour of UK museums. Munnings painted “The Squire’s Daughter” in 1901. Having been a lithographers apprentice thru the 1890s in Norwich, he often created these romantic characters in Georgian costume in print and paint

Day 12 of our tour of painting by Alfred Munnings in UK museums and we go from Liverpool to Southport for this stunning depiction of “A Trooper in Full Marching Order”. During Munnings painted the Canadian Cavalry in France.
