@MulberryCorfu Two artworks by Edward Lear of Ioannina. Lear is the artist, even before Turner, who turned me on to watercolor landscapes. The mosque on the lake is iconic. @ascsa (the Gennadius Library), has a wonderful collection of Lear watercolors
@david_hewson I can't let a reference to Lake Nemo pass without putting up the Turner painting 😜. Are you looking for the Golden Bough?
Declaring this done. #mastercopy Lady with an Ermine, Cecilia Gallerani, by #LeonardoDaVinci #watercolor #watercolour Different reproductions have different colors; almost made fatal mistake on face, so quitting while ahead 🤓
Now, struggling with how, on a #watercolor #Watercolour painting that's 12" x 9" overall, to get in the fiddly embroidery details that are barely visible in reproductions of Lady with an Ermine. Gouache, colored pencils...?? Suggestions welcomed. Omitting is definite option 🤪
I just need Han standing in front of this to have my own Childe Hassam. But wait I do, from a year ago 🤪. Oh, and a bowl of goldfish 😜
@Tina69911364 View from SE corner of pecan Grove looking N. 1st 3 are 9"x12" or 18"x 24". 4th is biggest painting I've ever done, at request of a friend, based on her seeing the 1st. She asked if I could do it 6' x 4'. I gulped and said "yes"

I was challenged by @Tina69911364
Today, Edward Lear. I was going to do Sargent, but everyone knows him.
I first saw Lear's watercolors of Greece in 1976 at @ASCSAthens and they blew me away. A strong influence on my desire to do watercolor landscapes
