Disney's POCAHONTAS turns 25 today (had its wide release on June 23, 1995). It's admittedly a problematic film, yet features spellbinding animation & some wonderful songs ("Colors of the Wind"/"Just Around the Riverbend"). Native American actress Irene Bedard voiced Pocahontas.

Two must-see Irish movies: THE SECRET OF KELLS and SONG OF THE SEA. Both of these gorgeous animated films were directed by the Tomm Moore, one of the most talented and unique animators working today. Perfect St. Patrick’s Day options🍀🇮🇪

Animation has even fewer women directing features than the rest of the industry. Here are 4 recent films by women that deserve more attention:

One thing I can agree on with the Academy is that FROZEN 2 was terrible. The animation branch knew it and didn’t just nominate it to appease the Disney overlords. Seems there’s a chance something other than “Toy Story 4” can win. #OscarNoms
