Ecstatic to see WOLFWALKERS get so many Annie Awards nominations, but even happier that the beautiful CALAMITY JANE and the hilarious A SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE: FARMAGEDDON are finally getting some love this season.

Whoa! SPIRITED AWAY is going to become a stage production in Japan next year. Really curious about how they are going to adapt it.

On Luis Buñuel’s birthday, I recommend not a film by him but about him: the adult animation gem BUÑUEL IN THE LABYRINTH OF THE TURTLES. It shows him reckoning with his artistic ethic, his schism with Salvador Dalí, and the role of friendship in his life and career.

Happy birthday to Tomm Moore, the Irish Miyazaki, who has given us three wondrous animated features that have earned him a place among the greats in the medium: THE SECRET OF KELLS, SONG OF THE SEA, and WOLFWALKERS.🇮🇪 🎉

Today marks the 20th anniversary of THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE, a movie I adore. I do wonder how a movie like this, explicitly set in Latin America (Peru specifically), would look and sound today. Kronk remains the best sidekick.

Animation is for everyone. It’s not only Disney or Pixar. It’s not a genre but a medium. It’s far from being solely a tool for children entertainment. It can conveyed the most complex human emotions and tap into our dreams & imagination in ways live action works could never do.

A reminder that animated films can also be masterpieces. Stop treating animation as lesser art.

Cartoon Saloon’s track record is flawless. Four animated movies I’ll keep on rewatching for the rest of my life. I’m truly in awe every time I get to experience one of the their works ❤️

Today is the anniversary of release of TREASURE PLANET, a Disney movie I adore but has mostly been forgotten. Both the animation and the character development make this one a special take on a classic story. There’s also its great song I’M STILL HERE and the adorable Morph.

WOLFWALKERS is out today in the U.S. It’s my favorite film of the year. Cartoon Saloon completed its Irish folklore trilogy with this stunning and emotionally potent treasure of a film. Can’t wait to watch it again. Resharing my review for @ThePlaylist: https://t.co/tQHHXeNcqr
