Oh, Gosh, I'm immensely excited about Molly Mendoza's STRAY. Molly is a favorite of mine (their book SKIP is just astounding, you should pick it up) and Bulgilhan is shaping up to be a true force in the small press spheres, so I cannot wait to pick it up and fall in love with it.
YOUR BLACK FRIEND AND OTHER STRANGERS is a stunning book. An incredible command of tone and message, coupled with a really singular grasp of everything that comics can be. Ben Passmore is one of the best cartoonists of our time, and this is a great collection of his work.
I really liked Ellinor Richey’s JUNKWRAITH. It’s a sweet, charming story about the way the parts of your identity and surroundings come together to form a whole you, with some really striking, gorgeous cartooning. A very strong debut.
sometimes you write something and immediately think “oh, man, I’m not sure if I can get away with it but I sure do want to keep this in, it’s too good,” and this moment was one of those things, and I am very glad that Evangeline made it look as rad as she did https://t.co/VBrJaSq1V1
Potentially-bootleg copy aside, good Lord is DEATHBLOW AND WOLVERINE gorgeous. The story is… well, wanting, but the art is the platonic ideal of a ‘90s superhero book, finding a really interesting midpoint between Darrow and Lee. Very fun to look at.
Really into the look of NO LOVE LOST by @Luca_Oliveri. I wasn't familiar with Oliveri's work, but this book looks lovely, and PEOW is one of the best publishing operations in comics, so you know I'll be checking it out and so should you: https://t.co/QGi0C6rzTH
I was looking through the Previews catalog only to find out that there’s a graphic novel coming out written by @jakewyattriot and drawn and colored by Choo, both of whom I like a whole lot! THE WELL looks gorgeous and I can’t wait to read it come April. What a lovely surprise.
Really enjoyed METHODS OF DYEING, the latest ISMYRE book. This series is a delight, always allowing Mure to stretch different storytelling muscles, and this one is no different—a fun little investigation story, with stunning art as usual.
