The civic coinage is dominated by a mounted horseman on the Obverse, with a couched lance. However, as the coins were designed for civic usage, the issues aren't as numerous as the Alexander-style design.

First up for here's a roundel showing the birth of Mithras. Flanked by his two usual attendants, Cautes and Cautopates, Mithras emerges from a dark cave: ca. 1st Century AD (provenance back to ca. 1905), probably from Egypt.
