#160 King Arthur
Arthur is in an odd place in the Nasuverse because he shouldn’t really exist. He was the original hero of Fate that Nasu wrote in high school, with a female protagonist. It was later retooled into Fate/stay Night. (More in alt text!)
I still think it’s utterly hysterical that Reigen is so sexy the animators are mad horny for him
They could have gone with an art style more like the original comic but someone on the staff was like “no… everyone must know the truth that Reigen is sexy”
I wanted to make a winter Edmond because he doesn’t get a Christmas unit this year but it turned out looking like…. Cyborg 009? 🤦♂️
#145 Mysterious Heroine X Alter
When she was first released for Valentine’s Day, all of her skills were associated with chocolate. After the event this was altered (heh) to reflect her true taste in sweets which in this case is Japanese wagashi.
(I’m doing my best here okay)
#142 Solomon
A man so famous he is a major figure in three world religions, Solomon’s name means “peaceful”. While there are many buildings and ruins attributed to him, scholars now believe that they can no longer be attributed to a time around his supposed rule.
#138 Jaguar Warrior
Jaguar warriors were an elite group of warriors that were not restricted to nobility, meaning it was one way to improve one’s status in society. Interestingly enough, to become a jaguar warrior one had to capture four opponents, not kill them.
#137 Gorgon
The ancient world often used depictions of Medusa’s frightening visage to scare off evil and protect the home. It comes from the Greek word “gorgós” which means “grim” or “dreadful”. She appears in carvings all way from Greece to graves in France!
#135 Gilgamesh
When The Epic of Gilgamesh was rediscovered in the 1800s, it caused controversy because of similarities between it and the Hebrew Bible, particularly with the story of Gilgamesh’s birth. Many other epics take inspiration from the Epic, such as the works of Homer.
