Beta Ivysaur:
Ivysaur's original appearance dates back to 1990, long before Bulbasaur & Venusaur existed. Back then, Ivysaur was flat as a pancake, weighed down by the massive flower on his back.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: Gyopin (baby Goldeen)
Gyopin was originally created for Gen 1, but was cut due to lack of cartridge space. Gyopin returned in G&S's 1997 demo, but ended up getting cut from Gen 2 as well.

Beta Jumpluff:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Jumpluff was originally named Wataneko, meaning "Cotton Cat." But he ended up getting renamed and redesigned for G&S's final build.

Beta Rhydon:
As one of the first 3 Pokemon ever created -- probably THE first, actually -- Rhydon's original 1990 design was quite different compared to how his final design turned out in 1995.

Beta Sunflora:
In Gold & Silver's 1997 demo, Sunflora was an unevolved Grass/Psychic Pokemon named "Sanii" (Sunny). But he was later renamed, redesigned, & given a pre-evolution.

Beta Tentacool:
Tentacool's beta design had a lot more tentacles, but it appears most were removed when Tentracruel was created later in development, so it'd look weaker than its evolved form.
