A callback to Senku in chapter 14! Except this time, Suika doesn't have the core principles of science in mind— she has Senku instead.
I wonder if Senku's ever explained what that equation means to her...
The final instance I found was from Hyoga a short while later, when /he/ gets betrayed by Gen, but for real this time. Both Kohaku's and Hyoga's usages are very negative and insulting, especially in the subs.
The next instances were both during the katana fight against Hyoga, in chapter 48/episode 18. First, Kohaku calls him a bat after she assumes he'd gone and betrayed them.
(In Japanese, bat can also be spelt as 蝙蝠, and is pronounced the same way)
Senku's hypothesis is that petrification uses the metals that exist within the body to create a hard stone layer. The phase change comment is about all the liquids etc present in the body turning to stone (like freezing water to ice). The diagram? Could be proteins and graphite.
Another callback! Here it's the monkeys: Senku's original ones were Old World monkeys, whereas Suika's are New World monkeys! Specifically squirrel monkeys, though the manga-monkeys' tails appear shorter than in real life.
Fun fact! Almost every vehicle Senku has ever built or ridden in has resulted in a traffic accident of some sort.
Another point about Stanley: he's been sitting with an unlit cigarrette in his mouth until Xeno appears, immediately after which he attempts to light it but stops since they discover Suika missing.
Remember Luna's cute dress? Specifically the part about her dress functioning as a yardstick? Well we're going to use that to find out how wide her hips are.
Stanley says each stripe is 5 inches, but we'll be using centimeters and doubling it so 10 in = 25.4 cm.
tree sparrows are also small but mostly brown and have a white ring around their necks. You're probably wondering how anyone can mix these birds up but looking at the manga images 1. there's no forked tail 2. the white underbelly and neck is visible, so what is the truth? 🤔
