And here's a lowish-res wallpaper from ZOOM itself, featuring the mech Tracer and its pal Betty.

Both Genocide games did well enough to get console ports, first for the PC Engine and then for Super Famicom. What vexes me is how ZOOM brought Phalanx to the WiiWare, but not these!

Folks at forums wanted some of that mecha action, so I'll oblige.

The X68000 versions, released in 1989/1991, play decently enough, but Square does a lot to make the original game way more fun and fair. It's a shame they removed the original presentation, though.

In around 40 minutes, I'll be starting by streaming Revival Xanadu and today's video thread game! Tune in for a sneak peek of said title.

Check back at 1:30 PM CST: https://t.co/DamqSngzki

This 20th issue came with some demos from other companies, plus quiz games and new puzzles for Nyanpi, leaving Arandar as the main highly interactive Compile exclusive. It's a good way to end 1990!

Here's a game good and replayable enough to easily feature in a Special DS box.

Like other DS98 issues of the time, this one has some artwork, interviews, staff writings, and featured game demos/release dates from other developers.

You didn't find many original, more budgeted Compile originals in Disc Station until around the tail end of 1992 and onward.

Got 4 potential PFPs to choose from, too many reasons why I could choose any of them (though I've defaulted to brown-hair dude for the moment).

Explain to me which one is the most fitting, and why.

AZURE on FM Towns conveniently stores its cutscene graphics as .tiff files on the main CD track. Of course, the colors are all wrong!

I presume the game renderer post-processes these images with the correct palette, but looking at them bare is, uh, something.

This Compile shooter came out toward the end of their MSX heyday, with 1991 seeing more original games on each volume than before.

For 1980 yen, you could play Wonderland, some Nyanpi puzzles, and game demos from affiliate developers, all with FM-synth music and BASIC doodads.
