Atsushi Nishigori the famous Idolm@ster director, from his humble begins : Nadia drawing from 2002 to his full mastery of his cute & sexy style with Gunbuster in 2004. Few years later he will be tapped to design Gurren Lagann.

@Grandis_Granva Yes it was drawn by Shin Itagaki who later directed Teekyu, Berserk & Cop Craft.

Picture is smaller because Gainax only released on a CD-ROM hi-res version of HP illustration from 2002 to 2003.

Yuka Shibata showed up next with Abnobashi, they also started to add comments from the staff :

"I like Abeno ^o^
I wish i could have drawn it a little more vividly
I'll do my best on the animated series as well"

The series started one month later on april 2002.

The 1st animator to appear on the Topage illustration was Kazuhiro Takamura with Mahoromatic !

This thread i wanted to start for a long time - i will always find time to share my sympathy for Gainax ❤️ - about one of the best thing they did outside animation...

For a long time i thought he entered around Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking production...

But no he actually started on the Setting progress team on Melody of Oblivion (2004), based on You Yoshinari's design he build a model kit for J.C. Staff who was producing the animation.
