He started as key animator on a Gainax series on KareKano, made his animation director debut on Mahoromatic #4 (don't miss this one).

His chara designer debut happened on Hosoda's One Piece movie (2005) but his 1st original chara design was on Satelight's Kissdum (2007).

Let's give another push to this thread with my favorite animator Toshio "Sushio" Ishizaki.

He entered Gainax as in-betweener on Evangelion TV working on the added content for the DVD - around the same time as Shinji Suetomi.

A fun FLCL illustration came up on the Gainax HP around the time the series was coming to BR (2010).

It was drawn by Kazuya Tsurumaki as i assume a direct homage to Dokonjō Gaeru (Gutsy Frog)!!

With Wonder Egg Priority coming soon, i though i would dig into my doujin collection to find if i had anything related to Shin Wakabayashi
It seems i had with the Super Young series, books i didn't really understood where they came from, but it's as simple as Xebec rising talents

She will get to be chara designer at Gainax, next to Chikashi Kubota on the manga adaptation of Shikabane Hime.

She has been freelance for quite some time, her last big job was on studio Pierrot Twin Star Exorcists (2016).

This series is dedicated to Kikuko Sadakata, another talented female animator who started out around the production of Top 2!

She made a name for herself on Sugar² Rune where she rised on the job as animation director. She did the same for one of Gurren Lagann best ep. #5.

Bandai Visual was very supportive of these project, they also tried to find support in Hollywood to get new know-how.

They approached in this order : James Cameron's Lightstorm in 1998, then Roland Emmerich's Centropolis, and Silver Pictures and the Washowski's in 1999...
