Luke fights through the Empire’s defenses, attempting to rescue Han Solo. Writer Charles Soule, Artist Ramon Rosanas, Colorist Rachel Rosenberg: An exciting set up to, and fair rational for, the eventual final meeting of of Luke and Vader. 4/5

Carol is attacked by someone who appears to be controlled by the Vox Supreme. Writer Kelly Thompson, Penciler Sergio Dávila, Inker Sean Parsons, Colorist Jesus Aburtov: I didn’t find Vox Supreme compelling the first time, but maybe Thompson will. 3.5/5

X-Men (Oct1968) #49
Mesmero is amassing a mutant army to rise up and take over humanity in "Who Dares Defy... the Demi-Men!” Script Arnold Drake, Layouts Don Heck, Penciler Werner Roth, Inker John Tartaglione: The start of an interesting premise, hampered by disjointed art. 2.5/5

Carolyn’s execution of the President and the Bubble’s fate, is interrupted by Eve. Writer-Artist Steve Skroce, Colorist Dave Stewart: A bombastic, fantastic and emotionally satisfying conclusion to Steve Skroce’s grinhouse-inspired, Sci-Fi satire masterwork. 5/5

The new Queen is prepared to meet her King. Writer-Artist Frank Cho, Colorist Sabine Rich: Suspenseful, disturbing, and ultimately rewarding conclusion to Cho’s tightly-scripted and beautifully illustrated Science-Fiction Espionage-Thriller. 4.5/5

Laika, Able, and Baker attempt to return to Earth, while Yelena and Dr. Pembrook try to message them. Writer Jeff Lemire, Artist Andrea Sorrentino, Colorist Dave Stewart: Beautifully told and brilliantly rendered, but I’d like a little more story in each issue. 4/5
