The anime shortens the scene of the kings discovering the mirror message. In the manga, the king of Bengarna calmly says he’s bet on Dai’s victory, so he’s determined to not doubt his pick until the very end. This betting style is how he increased his already massive inheritance!

Also, when contemplating Flora’s mature appeal, in the manga Popp notes that as Avan’s old flame, she must be nearly 30, but doesn’t look it. The anime leaves this out, and changes Maam+Leona’s reaction from “how rude” to “you lech”

The adventures of young Avan and Roka were chronicled in a special one-off manga chapter (ala Trunks in DB), which it seems will be getting an anime adaption. It’s also the basis for the ongoing Avan prequel manga running in V-Jump.

We also lose a short manga scene of Popp and Maam struggling in the ocean. Also, originally Popp (jokingly) thinks of Maam as a “terrifying woman” for being able to swim so far. The anime softens this into a more direct compliment.

The manga seems more clear-cut, with the Time Ring corresponding to Trunks’ timeline disintegrating after Zeno does his thing, and characters talking about Trunks’ “future” being destroyed, which again implies it’s not merely U7 that’s gone.

The manga also marks the debut of Vegeta’s SSG form, over a year (in real world terms) before its first anime appearance in DBS: Broly. There’s also much ado about with Trunks’ healing abilities and Goku’s perfected SSB form, all elements absent from the earlier anime version.

Though the ultimate outcome is the same, there are many differences between the anime and manga version of the final battle. In the anime, Trunks cribs Goku’s Spirit Bomb (and Kuwabara’s Spirit Sword), while in the manga Zamasu freely steals moves from old DBZ movie villains.

Future Bulma outlines her plan in a DBS vol.2 bonus images, saying that if worse comes to worse “the three of us” (herself, Trunks, and Mai) can just live in the AU past. The Viz translation mistakenly phrases this as “the three of you”, implying a mysterious extra person.
