@ChrisGasCan Yeah, I don’t know what Toyotaro’s personal feelings towards the character are, but his depiction of Hit always seems to lack the stoic dignity of the anime version

Freeza is restored to life, thus setting the stage for the film DBS: Broly! But, uh, never mind about that for now…the manga skips past it just like it did Resurrection “F”. Instead, it moves on to a new story about the Galactic Patrol. But don’t worry about that for now either.

Soon, Goku pushes past Sign and into the white-haired (kinda) mastered UI form, and Vegeta gets his SSB+ form too. Neither manages to beat Jiren though, and with less than 3 minutes left they’re reduced to tag-teaming Jiren in their base forms.

Sometime later, Gohan and Kefla’s battle ends in a double ring-out, and U6 is eliminated. Thanks to Kale’s massacre, now only U7 and U11 remain. Following Roshi’s hint, Goku briefly displays UI Sign, but it takes 17’s (non)sacrifice to really inspire him to get the hang of it.

As usual, the DBS anime and manga present a wildly different sequence of events for the ToP. The anime’s narrator gives an update on the time remaining at the end of most episodes, while the manga has far fewer time stamps. Let’s look at the anime first…

(Why? Belmod’s been a god longer than Shin, and Shin was already a god during Buu’s rampage 5 million years ago. But 87 million Earth days equals only about 238 thousand Earth years, so Belmod’s days must be longer. Not hard to believe, considering the ToP begins at 157 o’clock)

@kalenshadow It’s in the manga too (using 地球人/Earthling, translated by Viz as “human”). This predates the daizenshuu mentioning Tien’s alien ancestry, and from an in-universe perspective it’s doubtful Yamcha would know about that anyway

How well does 780 fit for the manga version then? In ch.27, Beerus notes that it’s been “a few years” since he last fought Vegeta, presumably referring to their skirmish during the BoG arc (dated to 778). “A few years” works for 780, but also doesn’t rule out a longer gap.
