I probably would’ve preferred he not come back at all, but being reduced to a mortal is the next best thing. Maybe they can rebuild 16 and have him join the Galactic Patrol too.

Merus though feels like something we haven’t seen before. He’s the best thing about this whole arc hands down, and one of the best characters in Super, which should put him respectably high in the running of DB characters overall.

Also, he looks like Mephismon. But the goat demon look is generic enough, so I think it’s probably a coincidence.

Between this and Buu’s central role, it’s hard not to think that somebody’s been taking note of fan complaints about prior arcs, whether that’s Toriyama, Toyotaro, or Dragon Room (although frankly it’s probably not Toriyama).

The podcast is hosted by Gatchan, who also hosted the (similarly aptly-named) Weekly Thoughts on Dragon Ball Super podcast. (@db_kansou). Some of you might remember this podcast for the great title cards they used to have.

Listening to the Japanese podcast Let’s Reread Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボールを読み返そう @wakamatsuken) and they note how good Toriyama is at coming up with stuff people would want. The DBs are the obvious example, but who wouldn’t want a scouter or their own personal time chamber?

The anime’s actually pretty bloody here...but the manga still seems a lot worse. I guess because the anime’s got green blood, which doesn’t have the same impact.

And now maybe people will finally understand me when I refer to Todoroki as “Flazzard”.

These two are going to run into Ryoga heading the other way.
