Heyedra in Japanese is 悪魔の目玉, “Devil’s Eyeball”. I think the English localization name comes from combining “hey” with “hydra”...maybe?

As you may expect, this tale concerns a certain Genji. The ji in Genji is the rendaku pronunciation of the honorific 氏/shi, and the Gen is the alternate reading for the surname 源/Minamoto. Despite this, the translation “Mr. Minamoto’s Story” has not caught on among scholars.

Also, I love Satan Cross, but if we have two Choshin lose in a row it’s going to seem really pathetic. A little more Beerus and a little less Shin in the god department, please!

I’ve been reading Legendary Level 1 Hero (伝説のレベル1勇者) over on Tonari no Young Jump, and noticed this reference to Vegeta’s “dirty fireworks” (汚い花火) when the aptly-named demon lord Mao destroys her conscious. https://t.co/v0lazWKRBs

On a dark note, this is supposed to be Namekian for “suicide”, and naturally it pops up during Piccolo and Kami’s “killing me=killing you” conversation.

The chart also provides the Namekian for 神/Kami/God, and it does appear when Piccolo directly addresses Kami, and later when saying how the death of one of them means the death of both:

Sadly, it doesn’t appear later when Dende wishes to revive Piccolo and bring him to Namek...but the runes for “Namek” and “person” do. So perhaps Dende doesn’t refer to Piccolo by name, but only as “the Namekian from Earth” or something?

If you ever wanted to know how to write “Piccolo” in Namekian, Daizenshuu 7 helpfully includes it in a short list of Namekian words. And sure enough, these runes appear throughout Piccolo and Kami’s Namekian conversation, every time they say “Piccolo” (ピッコロ in Japanese):
