In the manga, Hyunckel flashes a peace sign to Popp and co as they leave him behind. The anime changes this to a thumbs up. Is the peace sign too passé these days, or did they just think it didn’t suit Hyunckel?

Flora originally mentions giving Avan the Amulet of Carl when selecting Leona as the fifth disciple. The anime removed that mention in ep.60 and instead shows her giving him the amulet during the Avan flashback in ep.61. The Avan prequel manga also shows him wearing the amulet.

When Avan finally reveals that he never actually died, in the anime he repeats this again and again to counter his disciples’ objections. The manga’s portrayal is likewise rather humorous (especially Popp’s reaction), but only has him say it once.

The manga includes a panel explaining how Avan used the Megante against Hadlar. Naturally the anime puts in a flashback here to ep.5, showing this battle.

Also, we can expect some sort of homage to Kodama’s favorite DB characters, the three nameless Namekian warriors mowed down by Dodoria. He really is trying too hard.

Kill-Vearn sheds a ton more blood in the anime than the manga. It’s a stark contrast to the anime’s early days, when blood seemed a no-no. On the other hand, it’s been established that Kill’s blood is basically magma, so maybe it’s OK to show since it’s not human blood.

“Make me sick” here is ヘドが出る/hedo ga deru, with ヘド/hedo=vomit (ie “you make me want to vomit”). This of course is the namesake of Dr. Hedo from fellow Toei hack victim DBS: Super Hero, to go along with his android-making sempai Dr. Gero (since gero likewise means vomit).
