Closing the month with this drawing from last year. Putting on what semblance of quiet dignity I can muster. -_-;

I missed #WorldGiraffeDay yesterday, but as it happens, this original is for sale. Illustration for How the Leopard got His Spots from the limited edition of Kipling's Just So Stories I illustrated for Folio Society, 2013. Watercolour, 150 × 265 mm. Please DM to enquire. 🙏
Victor Ambrus (1935-2021). Latterly known for his work as archaeological Illustrator on the TV programme, Time Team, Ambrus has long been a hero & an influence of mine since I was wee. So prolific, I hardly know what to feature. He sadly left us in February this year.
Sir Quentin Blake (1932-). Former U.K. Children's Laureate and one of the world's most beloved illustrators. No further word necessary.
Ralph Steadman (1936). Illustrator & satirist best known for his collaboration with the writer, Hunter S. Thompson. Most fondly remembered by _me_ for his picture books, particularly his invigorating illustrations for Carroll's Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass.
Another war artist, humourist, satirist, sculptor, author and illustrator, Ronald Searle (1920-2011).
