@scottEmovienerd However, I was first introduced to Jack Kirby as a genius at depicting bone-crunching action, and I think some of his best work falls into that category. That punch looks like it REALLY hurts!
Day 6: Monsters
TREMORS (1990)
I've been in love with this movie since my childhood days. Not only does it feature a creative breed of monster, but it also boasts a lot of fun jokes and a bunch of likable characters with great chemistry. Everything a monster movie should be!
One of my top 10 all-time favorite films and one of my biggest comfort movies are built entirely around the sport!
(They're written by the same screenwriter, too!) https://t.co/VtdgDQ5KMS
This is an interesting point, particularly the point about the Summer Olympics getting cinematically snubbed. My three favorite Olympics movies are about winter sports, and the same goes for the other films that leap to mind (ICE CASTLES; THE CUTTING EDGE; I, TONYA). https://t.co/NOhwAcgI3u
Whenever I hear somebody refer to "the rat" when it comes to art, I just assume they're referring to Rat Fink and move on. :) https://t.co/C9O2GAhegt
Here's a fun fact for my Disney-loving friends: from the mid-1970s to the early '80s, he was one of Disney's go-to stuntpeople. Here are a few of the Disney movies in his filmography, and a photo from his appearance on THE DATING GAME, where he was chosen by Farrah Fawcett. :)
All I want from a Spider-Man movie is a moment like this, where Spidey defeats HIMSELF.
Speaking of McQueen, here's an interesting bit of history. These revolve around the unfinished "Day Of The Champion," a project McQueen and John Sturges were developing until they were beaten to the punch by GRAND PRIX in 1966. This dream project later became LE MANS in 1971.
As of Friday, it'll be two weeks of being fully vaccinated, and I'll finally feel safe going to theaters again. Here are just four of the MANY movies I'm excited to see that way. :)
