These three are really good, and sadly all seem to be under-seen.

Because they don't get as celebrated as women directors, here's a shoutout to four amazing women screenwriters (and one writer-director). :)

To me, Hal Holbrook was one of those actors who could drop in on any movie-even in small roles—and instantly make the movie better. I feel he was at his best when he played shady authority figures. In his memory, here’s a few favorites from his huge filmography.

Sidenote please don’t misconstrue my first tweet into a dislike for GOOSEBUMPS. While I do think AYAOTD? is better, I still have a lot of affection for R.L. Stine’s books. These were some of my favorites when I was a kid!

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the brilliance of Mobeius's work on BLUEBERRY?

These are the four that immediately leap to mind. All highly recommended, of course!

I’d like to nominate the summer of 1985 as one of the greatest movie summers of all time. It was the year of Back To The Future, of course. Consider the fact, though, that these four movies were in theaters at the same time as BTTF. :)

Just wanted to throw a shoutout to
for keeping the painted book cover alive. HCC’s covers are always eye-catching, evocative, and lovingly detailed. They remind me of the ‘50s-‘70s pulp paperbacks I used to read at my grandma and grandpa’s house. :)

After rewatching it tonight, I can confirm that WALL-E is still a truly great movie. It got a lot of praise when it was first released, but, while it’s still liked now, I feel as if we take it for granted. It’s worth a revisit, just for a fresh reminder of how excellent it is.

I was reading up on LE MANS more today, and I came across this ad for "Day Of The Champion," McQueen's first attempt to make a racing movie in 1966. Over a million feet of film was shot, but James Garner's GRAND PRIX reached theaters before the film was done, killing the project.
