We were holding this image for another holiday, but cats win out over Halloween any day. For #NationalCatDay this 1893 image from the NY Condensed Milk Co. shows Eagle Brand evaporated milk spilling out of a platter being tipped by fluffy kittens. Oh, and a girl is there too.

In this volume of the 1843 Naturalist's Library we find a plate of #SciArt showing beetles. Elater is a genus of click beetle belonging to the family Elateridae.
