Okay goddamnit, so I was using MSX2 when MSX2+ is an option. Nobody even clued me in on this.
IT runs a LOT faster, so um...........
Talk amongst yourselves while I replay all the stuff I already did.
AshGuine has some damn fine box art.
AshGuine Story II!
And the gameplay style is totally different and it's an awful top-down swordplay game.
A.R.A.M.O.!
It's the first RPG for #IGCvMSX, and apparently it's in English! It's not exactly like the type of RPGs we're used to. You walk around, touch enemies, and all the combat is done automatically. No menus. Neat?!
The core offensive move is you can chew the branches off trees. To the game's credit, it shows you where on the tree to chew. You hold the button down and eventually the branch will come off.
So really, the game should be called Termitey.
I was shown what the pits that have the shops look like.
That, I'm sorry, is *absurdly* bad design. They look exactly like the same shit you're trying to avoid. That is not proper design, I don't give a shit how legendary the game is or who made it.
Starting over, and I missed the pits. At one point I had invincibility though.
@SolidRoar told me to deliberately fall in pits. He didn't tell me why, but I did it. As far as I can tell, that just costs me time, so, thanks Saud :) Stick a fork in a light socket. I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY! JUST DO IT!🤪
Um, so what am I missing here? Because this isn't as good!
I have to say, the first level was pretty dull. It had hardly any of the charm or personality of the first game. So, slow start. Let's see if it picks it up.
Level 2 is a cave, and that's the major difference: Penguin Adventure has set pieces instead of one theme repeated ♾
So I'm going to make a list of stuff to return to once I have English builds, assuming they exist. I know the MSX community is really dedicated so I assume translations exist. I'm just using standard ROM sets here, fellas.
This game, Animal Land from Enix, looks.. like LSD does.
