NOW, the sequel..

Deeper gameplay. Incredible set pieces. A ton of fun.

But, it's not an all-timer (and in fact, I promise at least a dozen people reading this will discover there WAS a Kung Fu 2 at all right now).

It has NO OOMPH, and in fact, collision boxes ruin it here.

Compare that to Urban Champion, where ONE SINGLE ANIMATION FRAME, rearing back on the punch before throwing it, gives the punch a sense of momentum and consequently makes the impact feel sick and real.

Karate champion doesn't get that. And NEITHER game gets the sense of sound..

These moves LOOK like they should be wince-inducing.

But there's no weight. It's a multitude of issues. There's not enough animation frames. You push the button and the graphic for the strike happens, with no frames between, so no sense of inertia or gravity.

Certainly better than ANY console Superman I've played thus far (I know the Gen version has fans), Taito's take on the Man of Steel seems okay, if repetitive. And firing projectiles from his hands? Who does this guy think he is? The Eradicator?

Biggest problem? NO oomph to hits.

It actually shows Clark Kent take off his glasses and suit and fly off as Superman.

Okay, fucking got my attention, Taito.

I normally dislike most brawlers, but Asterix uses a modified Turtles in Time engine, which.. hey, I loved Turtles in Time. This is loaded with personality and really good.
