@mugiwaranolucy It depends on what you mean by "win". Judging by their own victory standards, I think they won. This was honestly the best possible outcome for me because it feels both sides got to shine and even till the very end big mom felt like a monster. And I'm excited for luffy's promise

@Gorillo13 Nah he was still inside his Room when he lifted the ship. He has to be inside his own room to be able to use the room abilities. But with awakening, his operation room is now stuck on other things instead. Pretty clever

And of course Pell. Also Luffy obviously wouldn't die, but pretimeskip Oda made sure to make him survive the most bullshit of injuries (stabbed through the HEART) and it frustrates me seeing people complain "how is Luffy able to move after getting pierced by Katakuri"

Even though I don't like fake-out deaths, let's not pretend it's anything new or even worse now than it was before. In alabasta alone which was only 60 chapters we had 5 major "fake out deaths" but we let it slide back then. We're simply older now so we can't accept it anymore

@underratedChad He did. The real meta explanation is that it's shonen & powerups are saved for crucial moments. But Oda's explanation is in a 1v1 w/ Doffy, him using Kroom woulda guaranteed his death. No matter how close to death Law was he ALWAYS had less risky tricks to use which is fair imo

This might actually be related to age. Oda might be thinking of how a boy might think of it. I remember when I was a kid, I used to think it was crazy how blackbeard killed Whitebeard. In my mind it was MOSTLY Blackbeard and crew, but when I grew up I understood Akainus role more
