I could probably get away with JUST doing flats for this comic.
But I'm a simp for that mood lighting.
I'm liking my lines and expressions lately.
More workflow tests. I know everyone is probably tired of seeing these lol. I swear to god I'll go back to doing illustrations of pretty twinks soon.
Still messing with the designs. I can't explain what this is without giving spoilers. It's related to the comic though!
I'm excited about how these are coming along!
I really hate the way 3D looks jarringly out of place in a lot of webcomics, so I'm taking a lot of care to design shaders and workflow that lets me integrate assets in a stylistically cohesive fashion.
This is a Blender model.
I HAVE SUCCEEDED.
Now to get this to work for more geometric objects and full scale scenes.
This is base model + less than 5 minutes of painting/photobashing it a bit.
I haven't really learned jack shit about lighting in Blender yet, so pardon the bad raw export on the left. I have a good sense of lighting/color overall, so I can quickly layer effect my way to the final result I want.
Going to learn better lighting and get a shader finalized.
I've been testing some shaders and Blender compositor nodes.
The left is the raw export. The right is approximately 5 minutes of freehand photobashing/layer effect edits.
The glasses really complete the look. I designed her alternate hair. I swear, she looks good in anything. 😂
Trying to knock one of these out a day plus getting one chapter scripted.
