It's Saturday 24 February 1821, and news has come in overnight from Rome of the death of the young English poet, John Keats. He'd been suffering from consumption [tuberculosis] and had gone to Italy last year in the hope its warmer climate would benefit his health.

Tonight, 8 April 1820, we're getting first reports of a clash involving soldiers and local people at Greenock in Renfrewshire, 23 miles west of Glasgow. It happened as radical prisoners were being transported to the town's jail from Paisley. There are reported to be fatalities.
