In 1816, Louis XVIII commissioned to painter Anne-Louis Girodet this full length portrait of royalist Jacques Cathelineau, généralissime vendéen, who was born #OnThisDay 1759. The oil on canvas is now at Musée d’art et d’histoire de Cholet, Salle des Généraux Vendéens.
