I painted this image for my pals, and fellow (#westcounty moshers) Simon and Shannon's band #monolithian. The concept was about the persecution of midwives as witches, through a fantasy aesthetic lens because we are talking about #metal here.

I painted this demonic #darksouls image for a comp to create a boss that was running on #vaattividyas's channel- for sake of fun.
I imagined a hellish infested version of local #celtic deity #Sulis, with the boss arena being a fallen #Romanbaths.

I really loved #AlastairReynolds wonderful #scifi writing, especially #redemptionark. I was taken by the baroque vision of an immense, lumbering cathedral that perpetually walks around a planet in order to keep something in sight...

I painted this image for my *own band* #atomçk which is a noisy #grindcore group. Very punk rock.
Unusually for one of my covers, I did the graphic design as well, hence the inclusion.

I painted this image of a haunted battle for the band #Eluvian. We were going for an exaggerated scale and over the top theatrical grimness- the band have a keen sense of how #metal can be humorous as well as #brutal.

A PALE WANDERER.

I painted this scene for the band #Empress who really wanted something ethereal and dreamlike. I aimed to exaggerate the forms and colours of a desert scene into slight #surrealism.

This painting emerged from my previously-described interest of merging aspect of #ChrisFoss (hard sf, machinery, representational) with #BrucePennington (symbolic, mannerist influence, surreal elements).

MASS LENSING VESSEL.

Like everyone sensible, I go through phases of loving 80s spaceships broadly inspired by the work of #ChrissFoss.
There's a particular style to that period, and it evokes a different emotion to contemporary or golden age #scifi imagery.
