On the 5th July, the Lord Lyon paid a visit to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Headquarters at Cambuslang. He was welcomed and held a meeting with the Chief Fire Officer, Martin Blunden.

On American Independence Day, we salute the work of the American-Scottish Foundation, founded by Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamilton in 1956 to promote harmony between our two countries.

Among the Crests of the Order of the Thistle on display at Biggar Museum until August 10th, is the "tower embattled Argent" of Sir Charles Hector Fitzroy Maclean of Duart and Morvern KT (later Baron Maclean) (1916-1990).
