@DroogmansLinda @rumena_aktar @Alibrarylady @erinlynhamilton @smerchant13 @BookSuperhero2 @nickswarb @sara13librarian @nikkigamble Now that is high praise for Satoshi Kitamura, surely! I believe Duck is Dirty is now a board-book which would at least mean it had a sense of durability about it. A lovely story to share, Linda. Thank you #SatoshiKitamuraAppreciation
One of my favourite Kitamura books is #WhenSheepCannotSleep I read it alongside Jane Doonan's #LookingAtPicturesInPicturebooks & both of them showed me how subtle, deep & clever picturebooks can be in affecting the way we see and feel things in art. #SatoshiKitamuraAppreciation
@itwillbeok76 @ab204 Thank you so much for saying so! I am just tweaking the plans a student has written for this wonderful picturebook and have way more to add too. I think if you subscribe to that particular padlet then you're automatically notified when something new is uploaded :)
@spinningzoo @KirstieB1 @_Reading_Rocks_ @smithsmm @Misterbodd I absolutely adored these: (Park Bench is old but if you can get it it's lovely). Komako Sakai is an incredible illustrator. Shinsuke Yoshitake is also worth pursuing and of course there's Kiki. (1/2)
@Guided_reads @LizzaAiken @tygertale Hi, Ben. I hope others join in here but I would absolutely lean towards the Arabel and Mortimer stories.
@konallis @LizzaAiken @tygertale Oh, I wonder if @LizzaAiken knows more about this. Thank you, Gemma #JoanAikenAppreciation
@jpumphrey @wjpumphrey Have just shared something VERY exciting over on Instagram. If you're big fans like me then go take a look.
Another great plan (Year 4) from one of our students here @brookes_edu who is going into their own classroom soon! Louise chose #TheNightGardener by @opifan64 & #TerryFan I have to say that I loved finding out 'who' was the inspiration. A beautiful touch. https://t.co/P92Av1uJns
@librarymice I can't choose a favourite so here's a few. I' add that I am grateful to @BookIslandBooks for bringing beautiful, translated books here to the UK. I seem to be drawn to books that adults don't think children should read (or will like) but are well-loved in other countries...
Some fascinating essays submitted for my MA/PGCert module on 'Children's Literature Through the Ages'. Latest one explores masculinity in children's fantasy fiction by comparing @PiersTorday #TheLostMagician and Lewis' #TheLiontheWitchandtheWardrobe
