Thinking about how Dick's mom called him her Robin, how Dick thought about adopting Damian after Bruce died, how Dick was the first person to put in the work to earn Damian's trust and respect, and how he reminded him today that Damian was his Robin first.
Later expansions on what went on in his training show Alfred helping teach him, as well as Bruce giving him weapons training.
Dick's training as Robin is a topic that's come up after Titans 3x04. Originally, Bruce trained him in martial arts, forensic science, detective work, and criminology. Dick then had to run the gauntlet to show he was field ready, evading Batman for a night in Gotham.
@AnneComics Carol and Nightwing should hang out, sounds like they'd have a bit in common.
Though the last time Bruce actually discussed the matter of anyone donning the cowl (as far as I can remember) was in Batman & Robin #34, with Dick, but a lot has happened since then.
So I wonder how Dick will respond to Bruce leaving.
@ABunchofComics Damian as an adult? Maybe. Damian as a teenage boy? Not a chance.
So the story for Robins involves a mysterious person claiming to be the "first" Robin. That'll be a neat trick, considering Dick got the name and costume from his parents (canon in the New 52 as well).
But it isn't the first time DC has played with that idea.
@Agatehorizon776 I'd be down with that. It looks like Jamal Campbell's from Batman Black and White
Some of my favorite Dick Graysons, drawn by Travis Moore, Joelle Jones, Phil Jimenez, and Bruno Redondo.
The key is the floppy hair.
And really, if there was ever a question of "could Nightwing and Huntress make it work" this issue answers it pretty definitively. Catwoman and Batman are able to kind of meet in the middle, but Dick and Helena are too diametrically opposed.
