Okay so this one is technically a sunset…but, it’s still beautifully sunny in our eyes! Simply titled Sunset on East Coast, by Robert Leman, this makes us excited to sit in the sun. Which sunny piece of art has been your favourite? Are you looking forward to the sunshine?!

‘Somewhere over the rainbow’, was written especially for the 1939 film adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 'The Wonderful Wizard Oz’ and sung by Judy Garland.

Our rainbow has been drawn by John Thirtle (1777-1839) and depicts a 'Rainbow Effect on the River, King Street, Norwich'.

But that's not all! We also have a spectacular loan from @NationalGallery: Bernardo Bellotto’s 'The Fortress of Königstein from the North'. The enormous painting – over 2 metres long! – is with us until 4 July so don’t miss the chance to see it in person!

Any budding (or developed) artist will know that much of their work is practice, practice, practice. Benedetto Gennari certainly knew this in the 17th-18th century, as seen in this drawing 'Studies of hands'. Beauty and artistry is there in the most everyday of things!

This #FashionFriday is all about hats! This impressive headpiece was immortalised on canvas by Norwich School artist Joseph Clover (1779-1853). Perhaps he was more taken with the hat than the wearer, as this painting is simply titled 'Portrait of a Lady with Ostrich Plume Hat'.
